This album was recorded In July and August 2020 in Agioi Theodoroi, Greece,
during visiting at my fathrer’s land in between lockdowns.
I used extremely simple means, a 4-track digital handheld recorder,
a few string instruments and a bunch of abandoned albums of my Greek music collection
plus some homebrew synthesizers.
It is a collection of tracks investigating and researching some sort of “Greekness”
in me and in my music influences.
It was the first time to experiment using all the things I like at the same time,
aesthetically unfiltered, strictly transcendental in a very personal non-Greek way..

1. PAIDUSKA: original track from Domna Samiou’s record “SOURAVLI”.
2. LAVTA: me playing the lavta and decomposing the recording with DIY synths.
3. THE SPARROWS: original track from a ghost Macedonian gipsy orchestra
which dare to play original Slavic tunes on a Greek ground…
(thanks to “Gaidaman” Giorgos Makris for letting me know about their work).
4. MYKONOS: me singing and mixing recordings of regional bagpipe tunes from Mykonos Island
(Thanks to Thodoris Ziarkas for giving me the recordings) and additional DIY synths.
5. KONDILIES: Electroacoustic composition based on a national Greek TV doc about Psaradonis.
6. THE BROTHERS: original Pontiac tune covered by famous pop star Giannis Floriniotis
(taken from the soundtrack of his VHS film production under the same title).
7. ANOTHER SCHOOL HAS BURNED DOWN: A very manipulated version
of me and my friends and family performing an old tune at my yard during a party.
Original tune by Kostas Bezos (1930).
8. MEROLOY: original tune is a solo clarinet from Epirus,
by a bootleg CD-r collection bought in Ioannina.
9. TZOURAS: A very manipulated track of me playing my tzouras bouzouki
(my baby son’s voice and xylophone can be heard in the beginning).
